Puerto Princesa City Again Plays Host To 2008 Motocross Champions Of Asia

A much bigger and more intense battle for supremacy gathers the most talented Asian supercross champions anew as the Philippines again plays host to the 2008 Motocross Masters of Asia - Puerto Princesa FIM Asian Championships set February 24 , Foundation day week at the Sta. Monica International Racetrack in Puerto Princesa City.
Champion riders from more than 10 countries are expected to set soil and vie for the coveted crown of this event sponsored by the City of Puerto Princesa, Oakley, Philippine Sports Commission, motorcyclephilippines.com and Inside Racing. Among those which have confirmed their participation are Thailand , Japan , Guam , Australia , Indonesia , China , Hong Kong and Mongolia .

Puerto Princesa City Mayor Edward Hagedorn sees this event as a big avenue to boost his goal of making Puerto Princesa City the Sports Tourism Capital of the Philippines .

Playing host for the fifth straight year, the honorable Puerto Princesa City Chief executive is supervising the preparations himself together with City Administrator Agustin Rocamora and City Sports Department Atty. Rocky Austria ensure the event will be a bigger success.

Up for grabs is the Mayor Edward S. Hagedorn Cup — a sterling silver trophy coming from the city’s chief executive and his constituents. Aside from defending champion Arnon Theplib of Thailand , this year’s edition will also showcase new talented champions led by Miss Jaime Plagman, the 17-year-old national motocross champion of Guam .

Mongolia, likewise, will be fielding the biggest delegation with four riders including a 12-year-old junior champion for the biggest motorsports event which will be covered by a TV Crew from UK for the global TV coverage of ESPN and Star TV.

Filipino riders, on the other hand, are now busy preparing to take the foreign challenge and the kickoff of the annual NAMSSA National Motocross Series set February 3 at Fast Track Circuit Taguig, will serve a good gauge of their chances in the prestigious international event.

All members competing in the NAMSSA National kickoff are required to bring 1×1 ID picture for the processing of their annual NAMSSA license.

NOTES: Riders to bring their 1×1 ID picture for license processing on Feb 3rd at Fast Track Launching of Moto X Series

Loading bikes for Palawan shall be on Feb. 4 for enduro bikes and all other production bikes ready to go and Feb 11 for other porduction machines , first come first serve basis only.
